The Woodgrains @ White Mule

The Woodgrains, a young three piece from Athens, Ga., will make a stop in Columbia on a summer long Southeastern tour that will culminate at the annual Gram Parsons Tribute Festival in the band’s home state.

Supporting a self-titled EP, The Woodgrains cite influences ranging from funk and soul to psychedelia and rock. They describe their sound as something like “if The Doors and The Band had a love child.”

No Depression was impressed enough with the youngsters at last year’s Gram Parsons fest to include them in a write up that featured rock legend Leon Russell. If you don’t take No Depression’s word for it, head out to White Mule next Wednesday and see them for yourself.
