Pinna playing free shows this weekend

Pinna will perform two free shows: the first on October 29th at Wet Willie’s at 10pm, and the second on October 30th at Loose Cockaboose following the Tennessee football game.

Pinna’s set list never disappoints with fresh takes on classic rock songs like “Get on Up,” “Born to be Wild,” “Not Fade Away” and “Running Down a Dream.” Pinna is for fans of jam bands, but don’t expect to be bored by a 25 minute version of Ants Marching. You’ll remain interested through every funky breakdown, but to be honest the real treat is when these boys play their originals.

Lead guitarist George Fenter’s background as a composer gives Pinna more of a Trey Anastasio influence than other jam bands, which in turn gives Pinna a fresher sound than their contemporaries in the local jam scene. Pinna’s talented group of musicians – including Josh Miley on bass, Tim Pape on keys and Ryan Ball on drums – has a knack for keeping the songs tight. So all you dirty hippies put on your patchouli and get ready to have a good time!
